My Headcanon ist just my opinion. I do not say it is the only true opinion. If you say they are genderless. Fine.
If you say one is a boy and one a girl. Fine.
If you say they are Attack Helicopter. Ok...
And more:
Chara became what you make her. You are not above consequences.
Because killing is not fun to watch in Undertale. And Fanworks what let me think that Sans is the one and only Enemy in this Route.
Ok, with Undyne he does not die in 1 Attack.
Sharing the same kind of humor does NOT make a good pairing.

There sone things I have to tell, this ist just my opinion.
Things that annoy me are:

Many Canon Character are ruined by dumb OC pairings, or making them gay.
I am not Homophobic, but if a Fan like a Canon Character, let him / her straight.
Sometimes its better to pair your OC to another of your OC in the same Story-Universe instead
killing an balanced Canon Character. Thanks.
And I do not like fans to overreact like little children offended when someone expresses justified
criticism of their favorite show, or they can not bear that someone man not like this.
